What will 250 000 USD buy in Sweden?

Thinking of moving to Sweden and considering buying a home? We’re starting a new series of articles to illustrate how far your budget will stretch in various different locations in Sweden.

The first article shows what sort of house a modest budget of 250 000 USD (approx. 225 000 Euros) will get you. This converts to approximately 2 395 000 SEK (Swedish Crowns), based on exchange rates 08-08-2019.

As with most countries, there’s a huge difference between city and countryside prices. It’s also worth noting that property prices advertised in Sweden are often starting prices, especially in cities, where popular properties can sell for considerably over the advertised price when a bidding situation arises.
